Meet Dr. Micheal Leahy:
Active Release Techniques Soft Tissue Managment System (ART®) was developed, refined, and patented by Dr. Michael Leahy, DC, CCSP. He is the founder of Champion Health Clinic based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and served as an F4 fighter and test pilot. Dr. Leahy graduated Summa-Cum Laude and Valedictorian of Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1984; he became a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician in 1986. For the past several years, Dr. Leahy has been proudly serving Colorado Springs area patients and their families. He has also been a competitor in over 25 Ironman triathlons.
After treating hundreds of patients, Dr. Leahy noticed that his patients’ symptoms seemed to be related to structural changes in the soft tissues that he could feel and palpate by hand. By developing a better understanding of the muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments, and nerves and of how each tissue responded differently to types of activties, Dr. Leahy was able to develop a treatment system that consistently resolves over 90% of his patients’ problems. He and his group of amazing instructors now teach ART® to physicians in many different disciplines around the world. His continued efforts help improve many professional and world-class athletes.
Dr. Leahy has treated athelets in just about every professional and Olympic sport. He is currently on staff with Denver Broncos (NFL team). Aside from helping athletes, Dr. Leahy discovered and published the Law of Repetitive Motion and the Cumulative Injury Cycle which has helped re-define prevention and treatment of work-related injuries. Dr. Leahy has helped pioneer studies that demonstrate millions of dollars in savings for small and large companies around the world by implementng ART® into their health care processes.
